Mary A. “Mame” King, age 90, of Oceanport, passed away Thursday, July 17 at Meridian Nursing & Rehab in Shrewsbury. Born in Mahanoy City, PA, she lived in Oceanport for the past 11 years and formerly lived in Spring Lakes Heights. Mame was a very talented seamstress who worked for the Roxanne Bathing Suit Company in Long Branch. She also worked at Ritz Bakery in Manasquan. Mame was predeceased by her husband Jack W. King in 2003 and by 8 siblings, an infant brother also Peter, Theresa, Adam, Steve, John and Frank Dembroski and Josephine “Rae” Jacobic. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Mariellen King of Allentown; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Brents of Oceanport; a sister, Elizabeth “Babs” Dembroski of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah King of San Diego, CA, Elizabeth Rhine and husband Matthew of Philadelphia and Phillip King also of Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mame will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com) with the committal service to follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mame’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
