Ethel (nee Varga) Kovacs, age 94, of Toms River passed away Sunday, January 4 at Holiday Care Center in Toms River. Born in Woodbridge, she was a resident of Toms River for the past 8 years, and formerly of Whiting, NJ, Melbourne, FL and Edison, NJ. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Balint Kovacs. She is survived by a son, Walter B. Kovacs and wife Victoria of Orange, CA; a daughter, Peggy Lee Wilson and husband Edward Jr. of New Egypt, NJ; 2 grandchildren, Sara Kovacs of San Diego, CA and Mary Adams and husband Matt of Eugene, OR and two great grandsons, Owen and Greg Adams. Ethel was also Big Nana to step-grandsons Edward III and Nicholas Wilson, their spouses and 8 step-great grandchildren. Respecting her final wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com).
