Obituary of Wendy S. Tilghman

Wendy S. Tilghman, age 59, of Wrightstown passed away Friday, January 16 with her family by her side at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. Born in Somers Point, NJ, she was a lifetime New Egypt area resident. Wendy was a 1973 graduate of Allentown High School. She was employed by AT&T as an operator for 20 years. For the last 15 years she worked for the North Hanover Township Schools and also the Home Depot in Freehold. Wendy was an avid animal lover from an early age, often bringing home stray dogs and cats. Her pets always came first, even before herself. Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Ethel (Sever) Tilghman. She is survived by five siblings, Debra Tilghman of New Egypt, Douglas Tilghman of Wrightstown, Dennis Tilghman and wife Mary Ann of New Egypt, Heidi Tilghman of Wrightstown and Kim Redford and husband Charles of Wrightstown; a niece and four nephews, Delaney, Chip and Will Redford and Kyle and Tyler Emery; her step mother, Mae Tilghman of Pemberton; two step-brothers, Wayne Gaskill and wife Carol of Medford Lakes and Lester Gaskill and wife Sue of Mt. Laurel and her beloved pets, Riley, Holly and Calie. A memorial service for Wendy will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 12:00 Noon at the New Egypt United Methodist Church – Atkinson Hall, 38 North Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until Noon at Atkinson Hall. Burial was in Jacobstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, because of Wendy’s love of animals, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, 15 Pioneer Blvd., Westampton, NJ 08060.
