Obituary of Carol Ann Davis

Carol Ann Davis, 66, passed away July 24, 2015 with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born June 16, 1949 in Mt. Holly, NJ to Almalee H. Davis (Greenwald) and Thomas R. Davis.
Carol graduated Moorestown Friends (67), Ursinus College (71), and with a BBA from Georgia State in 1984. She was a member of Golden Key National Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi.
Carol was a member of the US Army from 1973 – 1976, stationed in Augsburg, Germany where she met her partner through life of 41 years and spouse of 18 days, Shirley Tyldesley. Together they built a life in Lawrenceville, GA. Carol served 4 years in the Georgia Army National Guard. She was Controller at Ferry Hayes & Allen Designers, Inc. Her hobbies included softball, gardening and landscaping, travelling and spoiling her many beloved pets. She was a member of American Legion Post 251 in Duluth, GA.
Carol is survived by her spouse, Shirley C Tyldesley, mother Almalee H. Davis, sister April L. Bird (Davis) and brother-in-law Wayne E. Bird and their two children Briana J. Bird (Jason Kelley) and Denver D. Bird. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas R. Davis.
Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends and remembered for her wit, tenacity and determination in all aspects of life.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church, West Main Street, Columbus, NJ. Friends and relatives are invited to attend; calling hours 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at the Upper Springfield Cemetery in Springfield Twp. A private memorial was also held in Lawrenceville, GA.
