Ty Stillwell, age 74, of South Boston, VA passed away Sunday, March 27 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. Born in Cream Ridge, NJ, he was a resident of New Egypt before moving to Virginia in 2001. Ty was a retired tree trimmer for Asplundh Tree Service and he was also a painter. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Dora (Conk) Stillwell; a son, Ty L. Stillwell; four brothers, Daniel, James, Ellis and Roger Stillwell and a sister, Jenny Deets. Ty is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda (Snedeker) Stillwell; two daughters, Dora Jenkins and husband William of Jackson, NJ and Dawn McCann and husband William of Waynesboro, PA; two sons, Douglas Stillwell and wife Theresa of South Boston and Brian Stillwell of Wilksboro, NC; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister. Brenda Goff of Arizona; two brothers, John Stillwell and William Stillwell both of New Egypt and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 1 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com). Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 11:00 AM at the Jacobstown Cemetery on Schoolhouse Road in Jacobstown (Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Saturday to drive to the cemetery in procession).
