Obituary of Virginia Oakerson

Virginia (Cook) Oakerson, age 95, of New Egypt passed away Friday, April 8 at Arcadia Nursing & Rehab in Hamilton, NJ. Born in Whitehorse, she lived in Browns Mills before moving to New Egypt in 2010.
Virginia was retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange. She was a member of the Plumsted Presbyterian Church in New Egypt, member of Deborah Chapter and also was a volunteer at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Virginia was the last of eight children of Gilbert and Sarah Cook. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Oakerson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Robert Bryant of New Egypt; her granddaughter and husband, Donna and Raymond Winkowski, great grandson Collin Winkowski and twin great granddaughters Lauren and Nicole Winkowski of Chesterfield; sisters-in-law, Doris Lawrence of Cream Ridge and Eva Jane Cook of Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Nelson Maginnis of Hightstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a dear friend, Roe Wilson of Browns Mills.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com). The funeral service will be on Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM following the viewing. The burial will be on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the North Crosswicks Cemetery in Crosswicks.
