Ernest J. Szimcsak, age 79, of New Egypt died Thursday, September 27 at his residence. Born in Hamilton Township, he was a resident there before moving to New Egypt 41 years ago. Ernie was a retired Iron Worker with the Ironworkers Local #68 in Hamilton Twp. He was a member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post 455 in New Egypt. Ernie was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family meant the world to him. Husband of the late Nellie B. Szimcsak, who died on February 17, 2007, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn & Denny Errickson of New Egypt and Georgette & Greg Stankiewicz of Washington Twp., Gloucester Co.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Anita Szimcsak of Newtown, PA; three grandchildren, Tracey & Mike Amico of New Egypt and Kate Stankiewicz of Washington Twp. and two great grandchildren, Jess and David Amico. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 11:00 AM at the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 N. Main Street in New Egypt, with Pastor Kim Wecht, officiating. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow in Emley?s Hill Cemetery in Cream Ridge.
