Obituary of Dorothy M. Johnson

Dorothy M. (nee Dancer) Johnson, age 77, of Cream Ridge passed away Saturday, July 30 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Hamilton. Born in New Egypt, she was a lifetime area resident. Dot was a longtime employee of the Norelco Company in Hightstown and most recently with McMaster-Carr in Dayton. She was a member of the New Egypt Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dot is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Ronald Johnson; three children, Deborah Coombs and husband Donald of Oxford, NC, Teresa Johnson also of Oxford, NC and Norman Johnson of Cream Ridge; a brother, Wesley Dancer of Pinehurst, NC; two sisters, Shirley Polhemus of Clarksburg, NJ and Joan Gruca and husband Andy of Allentown, NJ; five grandchildren, Nicholas Coombs, Cynthia Bartley, Amanda Spencer, Norman Johnson, Jr. and Louis Johnson, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Dot will be held on Thursday, August 4 at 4:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com). Calling hours will be on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dot’s memory can be made to the New Egypt Vol. Fire Company, P. O. Box 177, New Egypt, NJ 08533 or to the New Egypt First Aid Squad, 32 Brynmore Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
