Obituary of John C. Crowell

John C. Crowell, age 78, of Cream Ridge passed Friday, August 2 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Philadelphia, John was an area resident for the past 25 years and before that lived in Texas.

 

John proudly served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1968 and he retired from teaching at Trenton Central High School in Trenton.  John was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.  He enjoyed playing all types of games with his family and friends and had a competitive spirit.  John most enjoyed being the spiritual leader for his family and loved sharing God’s word.

 

John was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Esther (Johnston) Crowell and by his brother, Peter Crowell.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Janet (Haitz) Crowell; six children and their spouses, Suzanne and Mark Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Diane and Marco Rodriquez of El Paso, TX, Julie and Paul Pefanis of Cumming, GA, Bethann and Dominic Lizzi of York, PA, Steve and Megan Crowell of Philadelphia, PA and Tricia and Jim Raab of New Egypt; a brother, James Crowell and wife Marianne of Ft. Myers, FL; a sister, Joy Crowell of Florida; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services for John will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 1:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com) with interment to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.  Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
