I was absolutely stunned today, while I was about to speak with Paul, on the phone about some bathroom installation issues.
He told me that Pam had suddenly died and told me of the circumstances.
He sounded so fragile...............and I just wanted to hug him.
And, hell, the bathroom issues paled in light of this!
This is a beautiful pictorial tribute to Pam and her life.
My fondest wishes to Paul, Paul jr, Mary and the other members of her family in their recovery after her loss.
" Years ago, when I was in India, a very wise yogi said to me, 'You can plan for a hundred years, but you don't know what's going to happen in the next moment'. I think living is a leap of faith.."

I first met Pam in 1972 at a harness racing supply store in Freehold where she was working at the time. She was a young woman so full of energy and so outgoing. She was the kind of person who made you feel good just by being in her presence. She quickly bonded to our high school group of friends and before long it felt as if we knew her all along. Always fun to be with, she introduced us to the town of Freehold which had a bit more to offer than our local home base of Cranbury. We all palled around together and she was always a good sport and put up with our sometimes out of control behavior.
A few years passed and I was privileged to be in her wedding party when she and Paul were married. As we slowly matured into adulthood, bought homes, had our children she was the one that always kept our circle of friends connected. No matter how long we were separated, when ever we got together it seemed like we had never been apart.
She always seemed the same. Allways the bright attitude, allways positive, allways selfless and caring. If you needed something she was allways there and admittedly was when I went through a rough patch in my life.
As years went on we were not able to spend as much time together but to all of us we knew Pam was always there. And she was always there! The caring, positive and fiercely protective dynamo that she was.
The world will not be the same place without Pam in it. Not for her family, her friends or the countless people her life touched.
It certainly will not be for me and she will be another person I will miss every day for the rest of my life.

Pam Valentine was a powerful positive force in the achievements of the Plumsted School District. Her concern for the success of all students in the schools was evident in her drive for academic excellence. She was a major influence in the decision to leave Allentown High, and to build our own high school.
She was a critical advocate for the building of a middle school. When the option arose, she was part of the decision to also build our own high school. Later, she was on the Board that added the primary school.
Her two driving goals were the availability of all the programs to bring out the best in each individual student, as well as to maintain overall high academic achievement for New Egypt students.
Pam was always focused on the task at hand; whether the construction of new schools or in monitoring academic excellence. She had a positive relationship with other Board members, staff, and parents; always open to a question or an opinion on the school district. She never let her personal opinions influence her decisions; and always did what was best for students. She practiced what she preached.
We will miss the dynamic individual who helped us all be better for having known her.
Dr. Jerry Woehr; former Superintendent of Schools

Although I didn’t know her personally, I’ve seen her around town. She always had a bubbly smile and very happy! Enough for me to recognize her perky face. May she Rest In Peace and prayers to her family. New Egypt will miss her smiling face!
